Since both Josh and I had MKL Day off from school, I was planning to surprise him with a secret getaway on Sunday night. However, since I’ve been fighting a cold all week, I decided to forget the idea and wait until I was feeling better. On Sunday morning, when I mentioned my idea to Josh, he thought it was a great plan and we decided to see how I felt after church and then go from there. After church I was feeling well and was excited about our getaway.
We used Hotwire.com to find an excellent hotel deal and thanks to Mr. West’s Christmas gift, spent the night in the DoubleTree Hotel at Market Place Center in Dallas. It was wonderful to get away (our first official vacation since our honeymoon) and enjoy the evening and entire morning together. We brought Josh’s Mac and watched David Copperfield. It was a great way to spend extra time together, without feeling the pressures of lesson planning and other work calling to us. Now it’s back to work for both of us. Josh is planning for teaching his class tomorrow and I’m teaching piano lessons tonight and preparing lesson plans for this school week.
Woohoo! So glad you guys got to do something so fun! 🙂
Amy, your hair’s long! And pretty!
Yeah!! That’s so fun. I’m glad you got to get away and relax. I was thinking the same thing as Deb…you look beautiful, Amy.
Yeah! You ARE beautiful, Amy. 😉
I just saw you, and even I thought your hair looks long and gorgeous. Great Job Amy. I’m glad you guys had fun. I thought it was a bit strange your wrote on my blog on a Monday. 😉 Praying for your classes.
So glad you had a chance to take some time out of your busy schedule and RELAX a little. 🙂
lol, nice nice, we hit up keswick for a short run out of NY…. pretty nice times.
What a splendid treat! We stayed in a DoubleTree in Albuquerque that Tim had found for a great deal on Priceline. I think it was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in! And I DO remember how delicious those chocolate chip cookies tasted. 😉
So glad you two are making time for each other.
Hotwire is great! Keep taking time to do those things. 🙂 I like your hair long too!
Yay for you!!! I’m so glad you had a little getaway.
Spur of the moment “getaways” are a lot of fun! Great idea!!! Love, Grandma B
