50 Wonderful Weeks with Becca-Bear!

A year ago today, I was still teaching and planning to have a baby in February. However, a year ago today was when I started worrying about Becca’s movement. Five days later, I was admitted to the hospital, and so started our preemie adventure. And today we celebrate 50 weeks with our delightful Becca-Bear!

Last week, we found a bed bug in our closet, so this week has basically been another week of preparing for the treatment, and now we’re in recovery mode. Becca offered to help me hang up all the clothes, but (as you see in the photo to the left) she got distracted by the hanger. Hopefully, this will be the last time we have to deal with the bed bugs, at least while in the USA.

Becca is now starting to pull herself up on things. We don’t have many furniture items her height, so she usually pulls up on the laundry basket and on her little dresser. As of yesterday, she can also go from being on her tummy to sitting up. At least that’s what I’m assuming happened, since one moment she was on her tummy and the next time I turned around she was sitting up. It’s so cute to watch her move around the apartment – 50 weeks of fun!

  1. I love the picture of her and Josh and then the one where she’s reading with her legs around the bed. So glad she loves to read! Also, glad to hear you are back into a recovery stage on the bed bugs. So sorry to hear it happened again. In six weeks, I won’t have to read your blog, because we’ll get to be with you guys!

  2. Her big blue eyes and long lashes never cease to amaze me. I also love the picture of her looking at her books. Can’t wait to see her and Bella together! We could do pictures of them together in the “Grandma makes me happy” outfits, but I seriously doubt that Bella’s will fit by the end of December. Thanks for taking the time to post!

  3. It’s so amazing to think of all that has happened in the past year and God’s goodness and grace shown to your family!! Praise the Lord that Becca is doing so well — she is absolutely precious!!

  4. It’s hard to believe it’s been a year. And how amazing to have such a beautiful girl one year after you were afraid of losing her. I do hope the bed bug issue is resolved…eek!
