Last Saturday night we had my friend Ms. Carter over for dinner. I was excited for Josh to meet one of my coworkers. Ms. Carter is a 4th grade math teacher at school and has made me feel a part of the Cochran faculty. I’ve enjoyed getting to know her and visiting her classroom this year.

Funny you should ask….at school no one calls staff/faculty members by their first names…even in faculty meetings and emails. It was a little strange to get used to at first. 🙂 In fact…I’m not sure we know all the other teachers’ first names! Ms. Carter’s first name is Lucy.
Are you serious? That is strange! We all use first names here (or last with no Ms. or Mr i.e. “hey, Bixby” (sounds a little guyish to me, but…!). Did you call her Ms. Carter when you had her over or Lucy?
