Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends and family! We have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving season. Last year we spent the morning and afternoon watching our baby’s heart decelerate and wondering if we were going to have a Thanksgiving baby. We spent the evening in the operating room and then saw our little Becca for the first time. Josh was able to see her in the NICU that night; I had to wait until the next day.

This year we will spend Thanksgiving with our very healthy baby girl who weighs a pound and a half more than our 15lb. turkey. I get to spend the day with my husband, instead of confined in a hospital bed, and I get to hold and kiss our little Becca-bear as much as I want. This Thanksgiving if I get teary-eyed, it will be because I am overwhelmed with all that God has done for us, not because of the uncertainties that lie ahead.

I am especially thankful for my family this Thanksgiving. God has blessed me with an amazing husband who loves me, is my best friend, and who desires me to grow in Christ. God has blessed me with our wonderful daughter, who is a joy to be with and fills our home with laughter.

We have a special guest this week. My sister, Emily, is down for a visit. We’re very busy seeing all the sights of Texas. More pictures will be posted in the coming weeks. We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thank you for your prayers for us over this past year.

  1. Have been thinking about you all this week, remembering your last Thanksgiving. Truly God is good! Happy Thanksgiving to you all, and almost happy birthday to Becca! Glad Emily can be there with you all to help you celebrate all the big events of the week. Love the pictures in this post, too. Boy, are you guys sisters or what? Love the picture of Becca with the spoon. What a great reminder of all God has done this last year. And can’t help but love the picture of Becca with the pumpkin. Gotta love pumpkin season! 🙂 Brings back some special memories of God’s faithfulness to both of our families.

  2. Josh playing the violin?! Love it! I was hoping there would be a post today; don’t know how you had time. The picts are great. And I’m so thankful that Becca is such a healthy, happy baby. Still remember this day last year. We were Skyping Charity when Josh texted that you were going into the OR. What a difference a year makes. Love you guys!

  3. What an amazing God we serve. Reflecting back on last Thanksgiving as I was kept up-to-date by texts. So thankful for His sparing Becca and giving her full health. Continuing in prayer for you as you continue to experience God’s grace working in your lives. Lots of love.
