Happy 12-Week Birthday, Becca!

Now that Becca is 12 weeks old, she is becoming a very accomplished young lady. My university piano teacher made Becca a sweater, hat, booties, and little animal (I had no idea that Dr. Wilson could do this!). We decided that Becca should wear Dr. Wilson’s gifts while she had her first piano lesson. Maybe someday Dr. Wilson herself can give Becca a piano lesson!

Becca is enjoying being home with her daddy and mommy, and we’re both delighted to have her home with us. The second day Becca was home, we had a significant amount of snow for this area of Texas. Though Josh and I were unable to go out in the snow together, we both enjoyed walking around our apartment and stomping around in the snow a bit. Maybe next year, Becca will be able to go out with us and play in the snow.

It appears that Becca’s colitis is clearing up. She has a follow-up appointment with Dr. Raine next week to make sure the colitis is officially clearing up.

Josh and I enjoyed our Valentine’s Day. I am so blessed to be married to the world’s most wonderful man.

Here’s a few pictures of some of the week’s activities for Becca. Thank you for your prayers for us. We are praising God for His continual working in Becca’s life and are so grateful for His protection on her life.

  1. Kind of sad that one of the main highlights of my Thursday is knowing it is Becca’s birthday and there will most likely be a new post. I love the pictures. She has great facial expressions already! Continuing to pray that the colitis clears up completely!

  2. Hi Guys! We are delighted that Becca is home with Mommy and Daddy and doing so well. We rejoice with you in the goodness of our great God. Thanks for all the posts and pictures. It is such an blessing to have them.
    God bless your precious family!!
Lots of love to you all!

  3. I love the entry, and I guess Caroline and I are more alike than I thought, because I was the same way today! Thank you for the post! I LOVE that little hat, and I also love the pictures of you multi-tasking with the thank you notes and Miss Becca cuddling with you. Love you three!!!

  4. @caroline: It’s not sad at all! It’s a great highlight for the day. 🙂

(I’ve been working in the linguistics lab this afternoon, and I was pretty excited just now to find that Becca’s birthday post is up. I’ve been checking for the past couple hours.)

  5. As with the other comments, I, too, look forward to seeing new pictures of Becca and updates about her progress — such day brighteners! What a doll!

  6. It’s so wonderful to see how the Lord has protected this precious gift and blessed your family! We’ve been praying, and it’s so wonderful to see these weekly posts!

  7. I too look forward to the post. I check them every night just so I don’t miss something. You are all beautiful.

  8. THis is my weekly “smiles” time! She just gets prettier every day! (Although it still strikes me a little funny to see Josh holding such a sweet little girl! I guess I just have too many memories from his growing up years!) 🙂

  9. She’s already go some cute facial expressions–looks like she’s giggling in a few pics!! I can’t wait to see the snow pictures next year of her dancing outside with y’all!!

Dr. Wilson is just awesome, ain’t she–the way she’s always doing stuff like that? I had the privilege of studying with her for grad school, and it was just like having your favorite aunt or grandma as a teacher. Of course she made me work, but I could talk to her about other stuff in life too . . . and single gals need to talk to other single gals sometimes. I’ve resolved that when my married sister and brother have kids in the next few years, I’m going to become JUST as beloved an aunt as Dr. Wilson. Those kids are going to adore their aunt Kendra, and I’m going to do just as many sweet things for my students too, esp. as they grow up.

  10. Really cute pics! Glad things are going better! I kind of agree with Mrs. Wynn though in that it is kind of funny to see you (Josh) holding a little tiny baby girl and knowing she’s your daughter. =) Of course, the same could be said about me and my two boys! =) Can’t believe we’ve grown up enough to be parents! =)
